The concentration area that bears the same name as PPG-DTECS, states the unifying axis of the research interests of the teaching staff and students. Above all, it focuses on a set of searches for innovations and new investigative practices, which impose perspectives on the field of interdisciplinary research, considering the relationships between development and technologies applied to society. It encourages the use of methodologies with an interdisciplinary character in their different facets and possibilities, which are related to research into numerous sociocultural and socioeconomic demands and problems that go beyond disciplinary areas of knowledge.

Research lines:

Line 1: Development and Society

It promotes research based on the relationships between development and society, through the different social dynamics in which issues of vulnerability, employment, income, gender, race, imaginary, education, culture, violence, social organizations, family farming and rurality are present. It aims to understand popular and scientific knowledge in an articulated and interdisciplinary way, in development perspectives identified by society through its public and private organizations.

Line 2: Development and Technologies

It proposes studies aimed at investigating phenomena and technologies associated with issues of work and health, ergonomics, sustainable constructions, social technologies and artifacts, sustainable cities, circular economy, urban mobility and social inclusion, contributing to methodological innovation articulated with the opportunities and challenges faced by public and private organizations. Furthermore, it seeks to understand scientific-technological, political, socio-cultural and economic development and its manifestations of communication, articulation, creation of public policies for science, technology and innovation.
